The end of an era, the last group On Ramp class…for now!
Today marks the end of the On Ramp program as we know it and the beginning of another season of the CrossFit Games! As the months and years have slowly ticked by, many aspects of the training and community at Paradiso CrossFit have changed. The growth and inclusion of CrossFit competitions is a major part of this evolution and has increased exposure to CrossFit in general. While you may see the local CrossFit competitions and the CrossFit Games as an integral and normal part of our community, it has not always been this way! I have had the pleasure of watching the CrossFit Games go from a backyard bbq competition with a handful of unknowns, into a full fledged international sport, with sponsored athletes, ESPN coverage, and a $250,000 prize to crown the “Fittest on Earth”. The success and training for this ultimate fitness challenge has encouraged and inspired other smaller events for those that love to compete and challenge themselves physically. Over the past year, I have been vocal about the importance of participating in these events no matter what your fitness level. Competing is not about winning or losing! How many people go run a marathon to actually win the event? Its all about the experience and doing your best! This is the same mentality that we should look at for CrossFit competitions! I am here today to tell you to register for the CrossFit Games Open Sectionals! There is no safer way to participate in a CrossFit competition and something that you will not regret! Registration starts today and will be open until the 26th!
Over the course of the next month we will be discussing how this program will run and getting ramped up for the Games Season. If you don’t know anything about the Games, check out these links from the official website for some background info:

oh good lord. This is the workout that ruined me. Gross.
So many group classes. I love it.
If anyone is interested in doing tomorrow’s WOD (Run 8 X 400M, 90 seconds rest) I am going to give it a shot during track night tonight. Be sure to bring your own stop watch, if you have one.
Produce is ready for pick up!
I will meet you there Graeme. 6:30 at SMC right?
Yep, that’s right. May have to park a couple of blocks away from the track, although it’s been better lately.
Just registered for the Open.
And Jordan, I just signed for Frogman.
I’m all signed up too.
This eager beaver registered for the Games last week
Sad that I’ll be doing the first 3 sectional WODs in another box.
Morning – Surf Session with Bloodfart for a couple hours at countyline, paddled hard for an extra good shoulder workout;)
Evening – Epsom Salt bath, sore from those squats yesterday!
Can’t wait to do the 400 meters tomorrow!
Also, for those that registered for the CF Games already, be sure that you have gone back and filled out the payment info and put yourself on the PCF Affiliate Team!!
Love how that must sound to some… “Surf Session with Bloodfart…” Lol.
